ZSS provides staff and/or training of client staff, to do the field installation. ZSS works within local codes and practices, scheduling its work to minimize impact on exiting.
ZSS provides complete hands-on training to users of our instrumentation clients systems. Training of personnel can be performed at Z.S.S. facilities or yours. Training takes from one to five business days, depending on customer requirements and staff expertise.
Field Inspection Systems:
Many FOX-TEK systems do not require continuous reporting. A scheduled or on-demand visit by field staff to the monitoring site is adequate to collect data which indicates rate of change, or shows that the asset is healthy.
These systems are composed of sensors installed on, in, or nearby the asset. A monitoring point convenient for the field staff is selected and the fiber optic cable leads from the sensors are brought together to a secure, all-weather break-out box. Data is collected using a portable Fox-Tek monitor, immediate warning indications are displayed if the client's policies request this, and then the data is sent for analysis and processing.
ZSS supplies Site Support Services to assist in determining what locations are to be monitored, what parameters are to be reported, and what information is available to complement or support the installation. The timeliness and usage of the data and the reported parameters is determined, as well as the groups who are to receive the information. For some applications, the timing of the installation is triggered by other measurements (e.g. In-Line Inspection results, abnormal pressures, or equipment down-time).
FT Sensors are chosen to address specific site needs (e.g. a pipeline, refinery vessel, bridge girder, or foundation). As the sensors are permanent, the installation field work is integrated into other activities at the site.
ZSS staff or authorized field installers work at the site with the client to commission the sensors and the monitor. Often, the sensors are some distance from the monitoring point, so fiber optic cabling is installed to carry signal to and from the sensors. After immediate monitoring to sign off the site, further monitoring is undertaken by ZSS, its local field staff, else by the client's field staff. In case the site, sensor configuration, processing into desired reported parameters, and field inspection schedule and logistics are developed in FT Software along with the equations to process data into reported parameters are developed and validated. Before every visit, route planning, prior data, optional checking for abnormal field conditions, is loaded into the portable FT Monitor . During the field inspection the monitor interrogates the sensors, and develops the raw data for transmission to a central analysis point. If the client has requested an immediate field analysis to check for alarms on the spot, this can be accomplished using a laptop with prior data and the processing equations. For many clients, even if their staffs do the field work it is cost-effective to have ZSS provide Analysis Services to store and process the data, and report information to the client. Information handoff to other client information systems may added by the client after the ZSS system has been thoroughly validated. For clients managing and analyzing data themselves, after ZSS commissioning the, training is provided and the analysis function is transferred. Ongoing support is available in the event the client wishes to modify the information flow, or more thoroughly integrate it with other processes or asset management data.
Continuous systems work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to provide information supporting operations, or critical equipment and asset care. These systems are composed of sensors and monitors (in the plant or in the field), and analytical processing software in an office or control center. Continuous systems are engineered as follows: We offer Site Support Services to meet client needs by determining what locations are to be monitored, what parameters are to be reported, and what information is available to complement or support the installation. The timeliness and usage of the data and the reported parameters is determined, as well as the groups who are to receive the information. FT Monitors are selected. Models cover from 8 to 50 channels. The monitor interrogates the sensors, develops the raw data, and provides for transmission to a central analysis point. ZSS staff or authorized field installers work at the site with the client to commission the sensors and the monitor. Often, the sensors are some distance from the monitoring point, so fiber optic cabling is installed to carry the signal to and from the sensors.
